adorable ava

This time for my visit to Richmond I had the chance to offer a special deal with Kelly’s Kids clothes representative, Nicole Helmantoler. We first met when I took her daughter Ava’s photos in the spring. Ava is always such a good listener and poses so well! Most of the following sessions feature these cute kids clothes. Thank you, Nicole for all your help setting this up and during the sessions with everything!

brothers forever

When I first met Zack and his family, they were only expecting baby Murphy. This time I had the change to meet Murphy who is 8 months old by now. What a pair these two brother are! Those cute and contagious smiles. And oh! the red hair. :) LOVE! Just as I had a family of sisters forever, these two will be brothers forever.

laughter, the best medicine

The last couple of times I’ve photographed this sweet family, I have to control my laughter so don’t shake the camera too much. lol! Dad is great at being silly and the kids think he’s hilarious. Which makes my job very fun and easy. ;) And those sweet faces as they laugh are too cute!

sisters forever

Frequent visitors on my blog, Nadia, Camille and Nora are the cutest sisters you can find. They are as different as they are similar. I love seeing their personalities emerge more every time I take their photos. They are individuals, but they will always be sisters.

boys will be boys, colt

Looking back through the posts of Colt’s many photo sessions, I can’t believe the changes from one session to the next. This time I really noticed that his little personality is bigger than ever. His expressions were mischievous, adorable and so grown up! I just had to share a few of the cute ones along with his precious smile. :)

These last two remind me so much that boys will be boys. Give them a bucket of apples and they’ll start building something.

pierson & family

Seeing the changes in Pierson from the last year is almost as exciting as seeing the things in him that have stayed the same. The sweet looks and his big brown eyes. That smile. He obviously adores their dog Stockley. He is growing up so fast!

off and running, wyatt

We were so worried that we would get rained out for the weekend of mini-session in Richmond, Virginia last month. I visit from my home in Colorado Springs, Colorado every 6 months or so. But the weather cooperated for the whole weekend!

My favorite thing about going back to Richmond for the weekend of photo sessions is seeing how everyone has changed. Wyatt is no exception. I took his 5 month photos a little less than a year ago. He was just learning to sit up then. Now he’s walking! I can’t believe how big he’s gotten. What a complete charmer! And that smile! That’s the only part that hasn’t changed a bit! :)

I couldn’t resist sharing this one. How cute is this expression?

celebrating family

After the wedding I photographed in Casper, I had the privilege to stay and photograph my friend’s family on the 4th of July. You’ll probably recognize Tess and her adorable girls. They are stars around here. We did lots of photos and lots of combinations but here are a few of my favs. Family photos are so important – especially with when kids are growing up. There were 6 grandkids in this family and all under 4 years old. It’s good to celebrate family.

The reason this family exists. :)

July 24, 2011 - 8:04 pm Tess Brist - Kristi, All of these photos capture each of our personalities to the "T". It brings tears to my eyes! Thank you for spending a full day of taking pictures for our family. It means a lot to me, and I know that they would say the same. Looking forward to seeing the final cut on these pictures. Your Friend, Tess

innocence, smiles & laughter

Hayden and Sophia’s shoot was the last mini-session of the day. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day (minus the wind at times!) and overall, I absolutely loved it! I got to do what I love best, taking photos and making memories. As usual, I picked the photos of Hayden and Sophia based on what I think showed their personalities at this time in their lives. Their innocence, their sweet smiles, their laughter.

following in her footsteps

It was evident after spending some time watching these sisters that they adore each other. Especially Lauren who is the youngest as she follows in her sister Madalyn’s footsteps. Literally. This picture above just shows how much she tries to be like her big sister. Step for step. Even while we took Lauren’s photos by herself, it was Madalyn who got her to laugh. They are sisters.
