There is nothing in the world like a baby’s smile. It warms the heart, and no one I know can resist smiling back. I know I can’t! Even if it is usually from behind my lens. lol! Pierson was no exception. He smiled as he took some wobbly steps. Smiled as he clapped, smiled just to smile! I also love his pensive, thoughtful look, which I discovered often came before the smile. See if you can resist this smile. I dare you.

When you look up the word cute in the dictionary, you may find the name Jackson there. Because he defines the word cute. He is cuteness defined. As my clients often know firsthand, I say cute A LOT. But I mean it. Jackson is cute. It didn’t matter that he didn’t feel well. It didn’t matter if he cried. He was still cute. (If you count the number of times I mentioned Jackson is cute, you may get the picture. lol)

People always wonder what to wear for their family photo session. Personally and professionally with my photography, I think it should be what you’re comfortable wearing. That said, I also love a little WOW factor!

EXAMPLES:

1. Mom and Dad in neutral colors – black, tans. Baby or kids in colors or prints – red and white stripes, silver and glittery, red velvet, sailor outfits, the list goes on!
2. Everyone matching – greens, reds, silver, black with colorful scarves.
3. Baby nude except holiday hat, scarf or stocking.
4. Leg warmers!!!
5. Winter coats, snowsuits! lol

I love to document the changes life brings to families. From your wedding to your first pregnancy to newborn to toddler – it’s all such a miracle of life. For this little family we celebrated their newest addition, Owen. He’s lucky to have such a wonderful family and a great big brother to look out for him the rest of his life. You can tell that Conner loves his little brother. Anytime we asked him to give Owen a kiss, he didn’t hesitate. Owen is fortunate to have a family that loves him, adores him.

I have been documenting Colt as he has grown up over the last year from 3 months to his first birthday. It’s been amazing seeing him change and grow. He is such a cutie! One of my favorite things to shoot is a baby with their first birthday cake. Mmmm! Their reactions are priceless!

I had the pleasure of taking my friend’s photos with her two beautiful girls as a (shhh!) surprise for their dad. I have taken their photos before and as I’ve said, I am amazed by how much kids grow in such a short time. I will miss seeing them regularly but I’m sure we will stay in touch! I want to see these girls grow up. We started with feeding time for Emma so that we could capture how cute and funny she is when she eats. lol!

This Mother’s Day we surprised mother and grandmother, Lynn, in order to celebrate the day and the special lady who made this adorable family possible. She thought she was going for a nice picnic in the park (which they did, later) and got a bonus photo session as the cherry on top! What a great gift that will last forever. I did have to ask how they got her to match everyone. The other Mother’s Day gift was taking her shopping! lol!

You’ll recognize Colt and his family as they are frequent stars in my photos. This is his cousin, Riker.

I love this. It’s like they are seeing each other for the first time.

I’ve been doing their photos for years…but never quite like this. It’s not everyday you get to have family portraits taken on the beach in Cozumel, Mexico! I was down in Cozumel for Karina’s sister’s wedding, and we just had to take this once in a lifetime opportunity to have pictures on the beach.

We took a few before the rehearsal and later the next morning. These are photos of the girls in their flower girl outfits.

This cute little family session was a combination of family, fun and baby Grace Leigh’s first photos. She’s 3 months now and just has the most amazing eyes and smile. She really does take after her name – Grace. Her two older siblings, Angel and Jr., were so full of energy that after family photos I decided to have fun chasing them around the playground with my camera. Love candids of kids!

I couldn’t believe it when I saw Colt this month! He has changed so much in just 3 months. I have had the privilege to document his first year from 3 months to 6 months and now 9 months. We have big plans for his one year photos coming up in just a few more months! I can’t imagine how much he’ll change by then. And I can’t wait to see!
