romance & love | Colorado Springs Engagement Story

Taking Amy and Zach’s engagement photos was such a pleasure. These two are so adorable together – so comfortable. They made my “job” easy! Amy is working toward being a teacher, which, as you can tell – is a job perfectly suited to her. Zach has his own company, Colorado Circus. We took advantage of Zach’s very talented skills at the end of the session to have a little fun. He made a balloon engagement ring and proposed again! :) Did I mention how much I love my job? I can’t wait to photograph Amy and Zach’s October 2012 wedding!

made for each other | Colorado Springs Engagement

Krisy and Matt are so made for each other. You can see the commitment they have for each other as they look into the other’s eyes. You can see the love they hold for each other in their embrace. You can see the kind of life they will share as they laugh together. They are made for each other.

sunshine love

As we strolled through Manitou Springs for Sandra and Brett’s engagement photos, the sun was setting over the mountains. The romantic light was so perfect for this romantic love session. Not only could you feel the warmth from the sun as it shone on us, but you could feel the warmth from the love Sandra and Brett share. It was like the sun was shining on their love. It created a spotlight just for them. It was truly romantic and beautiful. I have a feeling their fall wedding will be the same. I can’t wait to be there to document it for them!

love, sweet love

Ashley and Ryan are such a cute couple. But it’s more than that when you see them together. She talks to him sweetly. He smiles at her with adoring eyes. They are in love. They plan to start a life forever together in September. And it’s obvious that they just, well, fit. Maybe not in height (Ashley is famous for standing on her tippy toes to get a little taller ;) but they fit each other with their personalities. They fit together in love.

Ashley and Ryan told me they weren’t sure about my shoe pictures, but they were game for it. I hope they decide they like the photo because I love it!

kismet love

Emily and Kyle are so, so cute together. You can see he adores her. He makes her laugh. She makes him smile. It’s kismet love.

Kismet {fate, destiny} They are designed for each other. It’s destiny.

See you guys in December for your wedding!

June 20, 2011 - 7:39 am Kristi - Just sent you an email of where you can find the photos. :)

June 18, 2011 - 10:44 pm Valerie Maier - Kristi, Love your pictures of my son and future daughter-in-law. Is there anyway I can purchase some of these photos? Thanks, Valerie Maier

love & laughter

Although I *love* the photo above of Rachel and Casey, it’s not really a true representation of their relationship. Cause once you’ve spent some time with Rachel and Casey, you’ll see how they make each other laugh. And smile. As someone who is also lucky enough to have my love keep me laughing, I can attest to the power of laughter in a relationship. It can brighten any day. It keeps love going. It’s the fuel. Rachel and Casey have the fuel to keep their love going – as long as they keep laughing together. :)

now this is more like it… :)

oh, my. these ones crack me up!

here’s to love

This engagement session and soon to follow wedding of Julie and Cisco is very special to me. Because Julie’s my friend. She has been for years. We’ve seen each other through good times, okay times and bad. Now she has found someone who loves her, cherishes her and treats her like she’s his somebody special. As it should be for everyone who finds love. I love to see Cisco look at Julie. You can see that he sees her. Julie has a playful, compassionate nature. A big heart, a great sense of humor. And he sees that. I am so happy for you Julie, and what a lucky man you are, Cisco. I can’t wait to be there to document your beautiful day, one month to the day from today!

May 25, 2011 - 8:28 pm Julie P - LOVE the shoes one! So appropriate! You did a great job, Kristi...can't wait to see the wedding photos!!!!! - Julie (sister-in-law) :-)

the language of love

I was going to call this session “laughter, the language of love.” But as I looked through Sarah and Matt’s engagement photos, I realized that there is a lot more going on in their love language. There is laughter, trust, hope….love. That’s why I love the photos where people are looking at each other and truly seeing the other person. It’s not contrived for the photo. I often just keep quiet to see what people do. And that’s when magic happens. It’s in a touch. A glance. It’s the language of love.

See you love birds at your July wedding!

May 19, 2011 - 6:26 am Christine Kieffer - Awesome pics! They are just too cute! Thanks for sharing. (I am married to Sarah's Uncle Rick)

love

And so it begins. The wedding season as we call it begins with engagement sessions in the photography world. Rachel and Tony endured a chilly evening to get their photos but I do believe, well worth it. My favorite pictures are when they look at each other. You can see the depth of feeling, emotion they have for each other in their eyes. In the way they hold each other. The way they share laughter. It’s love.

Congratulations, Rachel and Tony! Can’t wait to photograph your wedding in July!

April 18, 2011 - 8:23 pm Amy Orlicky - You love each other a bushel and a peck...that's for certain. Love you both tons! ~AO
